Local Business Defies Economy, Adds Back-to-Back Talent

October 15, 2009 (Nampa) – Idaho Water Sports, Inc. announces the hiring of Herb Clemens as their new service technician, and Todd May as their Service Writer / Office Manager.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Herb and Todd as part of our IWS family!” said Carol Warr, business manager for Idaho Water Sports, Inc. “Herb brings to us a wealth of knowledge, both from years of technical and hands-experience, as well as personally, and is the perfect mix of enthusiast and tech. Although new to our Nampa location, Todd has been with us in Burley and we’ve enjoyed seeing him advance with us through the years.”

Born and raised in Nampa, Herb Clemens received his Associates Degree from BSU Votech, spending the following seven years as a tech in auto dealerships. Also a police academy graduate working with marine patrol, as well as the Assistant Director for the Canyon County parks and recreation department, Clemens later became a Chrysler-certified tech at Curt and Hal Dodge in Caldwell for 15 years. With watersports “in the blood,” Clemens then spent 10 years at Gilbert Lake Marine where his factory-certifications covered various boating lines, including Ghekko, Glastron, Tige, Calabria, Brendella, and Nautique.

Clemens is also an avid watersports enthusiast and long-time snow skier, scuba diver, and hot rod builder. Married with three children, Clemens has called the Treasure Valley home his entire life.

Todd May attended the College of Southern Idaho for two semesters where he studied accounting. May plans to finish his degree next semester at College of Western Idaho.

Born in Cedar City, Utah, May graduated from Minico in 2008, calling Heyburn / Paul his “boyhood” home. May is an avid snowboarder, and is a participant on Team IWS. An avid outdoorsman, May also enjoys soccer, wakeboarding and wakesurfing.

“We invite everyone to stop in to meet Herb and Todd,” said Warr. “You’ll see quickly why we’re so excited to have these fellows here with us in Nampa!”

Idaho Water Sports, serving the Nampa area since 2002, and the Burley area since 1987, has two locations: 2175 N. Samantha Ct. in Nampa and 2165 Overland Avenue in Burley.
